Eastlake sweeps Olympian to start Metro-Mesa softball play undefeated

Through the opening week of Metro-Mesa League softball play, the Eastlake Titans stand alone at the top of the five-team league standings. Whether they will still be there when the final pitch is thrown in league play remains to be seen, but it appears the Titans have definitely taken an early edge.

Talent — quite a bit of it, in fact — was put on parade during Thursday’s Mesa League dual track and field meet between the host Eastlake Titans and Otay Ranch Mustangs, traditionally two of the stronger teams in the Metro Conference.
