No place like…

California has had a drought for three years. People who live here have been moving elsewhere for three years. The 2020 Census resulted in our state losing a representative in Congress. Reasons to depart include high prices for gas, houses, and taxes. Those who move east go to Texas, Florida, and other states in the southern part of the US. Few head north to experience winter. Are those who depart thinking logically?

Florida is The Sunshine State. No shortage of bright, sunny days here. Hurricane Ian killed 120, and left tens of thousands without homes, or those with homes still standing no electricity. Even Texas had a January with lots of snow. There have been floods after heavy rain in Southern states. Our state is the Bear State. Very few bears here. No alligators. Fewer snakes. Live here and remember what Dorothy said in The Wizard of Oz- There’s no place like home.
