The San Diego County Credit Union has partnered with the San Diego County Library and is hosting a book drive through Oct. 31, aimed to promote literacy throughout the county. SDCCU’s Lift Up Literacy campaign will collect new and gently used books at all county branches to be distributed by the SDLC.
“We are proud to partner with the San Diego County Library System to help promote literacy throughout San Diego County,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO in a press release. “The San Diego County Library efforts to increase literacy in our community align with our efforts to support financial literacy in the communities we serve to help achieve a healthy, safe and thriving community. We’re excited about this new initiative and encourage the community to pass along new and gently used books to be enjoyed once more.”
“We are passionate about serving the community to develop skills, nurture hope, and motivate a love of reading. From inclusive and diverse programming to empowering technical solutions, our team constantly finds innovative ways to attract new readers and enhance early literacy skills,” stated Migell Acosta, SDCL Library Director.
