Day of romance promotes love for cooking

Olivewood Gardens and Learning center is hosting a virtual Valentine’s Day cooking class with Chinita’s Pies and Berry Good Food Professional Chef Christina Ng on Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will prepare a brunch of Caprese Salad, Herb Pesto Shakshuka with Handmade Flatbread, a lemon-berry dessert, and a seasonal citrus and rosemary spritzer in this live and interactive class, with opportunities to ask Chef Christina questions along the way.
Basic registration is $35 and gives participants access to the class, recipes and a list of needed ingredients.

A gift pack with a Mexican zarape, a Valentine’s day card, a bouquet made from herbs, flowers and greenery foraged at Olivewood Gardens, and a homemade candle from Kali Girl Kreations can be added to the registration fee for $55.

An Olivewood-branded apron can be purchased for $27 at registration.
Participants who register by Feb. 10 can also purchase an ingredient kit that will be available for pick-up at Olivewood Gardens on Feb. 12 and Feb. 13.

All proceeds from the event will support Olivewood’s health equity, food access, and community building programs.
