Xolos continue to frustrate

On Friday the Xolos faced a team who has played much better than they this season and that also has a history of beating them.

Even under Miguel Herrera’s coaching, the Xolos can’t win at home—but at least they didn’t lose to Leon as they have in the past.

Against their biggest rivals and at home this team was unable to score — an alarming result because this team has only come out victorious twice during this season
.
Winning is essential because qualifying to the playoffs is fundamental to Herrera’s project since he promised to win a title as the Xolos coach. Fortunately for him he did not say when.

In the first half of this 0-0 against Leon, neither team produced any good occasions but in the second half Leon had several chances but Tijuana was able to apply a brake to their momentum

This team has played better than under any of the previous managers in the past years but the goal shortage is alarming.

Herrera said after the game he was worried about how his team is powerless when facing a goal situation, but he is not worried about how his team is playing.

“Today we had obvious opportunities of scoring which would have given us the advantage to manage the rest of the game, we were very offensive but that’s how soccer is, the point is to win.”
