Sting (Gordon Sumner) performed in front of 4,600 fans at the sold-out the Cal Coast Credit Union Amphitheater on Oct. 4 on his “My Songs” tour.  The last time he played at venue was back on April 13, 1985, for his “Dream of the Blue Turtles” tour while his band The Police wason hiatus.  T

The Police officially broke up in 1986. The band’s last performance (at the time) was during Amnesty International’s “A Conspiracy of Hope Tour. “ At the last show on June 15, 1986, the band left the stage handing off their instruments to U2, in what Bono said “it was a very big moment, like passing a torch.”
