South Bay’s largest outdoor Latin music festival on tap

FOURTH ANNUAL SOUTH BAY LATIN MUSIC FESTIVAL TO ROCK BAYSIDE PARK ON SATURDAY

The fourth annual South Bay Latin Music Festival will celebrate Latin culture, art and, of course, music this Saturday, July 27, at Chula Vista’s Bayside Park.

The 21 and older event, created by radio host and music producer Chris Springer, will run from noon to 7 p.m.

This year’s festival, the South Bay’s largest outdoor Latin music festival, will honor the music of the Palladium where the Mambo craze originated in New York City.

“We are featuring some of the Grammy Award-winning artists who played alongside the iconic Tito Puente, including Jose Madera, John ‘Dandy’ Rodriguez, ‘El Sonero Del Barrio,’ Frankie Vazquez, Marco Bermudez, Nelson Gonzalez, Bobby Escoto with Con Junto Afroson,” Springer said.

Also scheduled to perform at the festival is Cuban band Changui Majadreo and Son Mayor, one of the hottest Salsa bands from Los Angeles.

The event also will feature two large dance floors and three DJs spinning Latin music all day, including DJ Robby from Los Angeles and DJ Mambo and DJ Ukeim from San Diego.

Llarisa Abreu from NBC/Telemundo will serve as emcee.

Tickets are $30 for general admission and $60 for VIP.

Bayside Park is located at 999 Bayside Parkway at the corner of Quay and G streets.
