KAABOO festival is right around the corner

KAABOO Del Mar, San Diego’s largest music, comedy, culinary and art festival, is back for three days of riotous fun Sept. 13-15 at the Del Mar racetrack and fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd.

The event is celebrating its fifth year.

As usual, the headliners are huge, the food is delicious and the vibe is always right. The main stage has a perfect backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and multiple passes from the Coaster.

The opening lineup on Sept. 13 includes REO Speedwagon, the Cult, Boys II Men, Silversun Pickups, Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Plain White T’s, Vintage Trouble, Grizfolk, J. Human, Tori Kelly, Hailey Whitters and Maren Morris.

Snoop Dogg does a special performance with Wu-Tang Clan and four-time Grammy Award-winning Kings of Leon to close out the night.

Guests should come ready to party on Sept. 14 with a lineup featuring OneRepublic, Bryan Adams, Sublime With Rome, Squeeze, Switchfoot, Cheat Codes, Keunig, Badflower, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Blind Melon, Mix Master Mike, Laine Hardy, the Artisanals, the Gooms, Suckerbox, Chevy Metal, Tim Reynolds and Sir, Please.

Guests can enjoy a relaxing final day on Sept. 15 with the Revivalists, Bangles, Colbie Caillat, Lifehouse, Cash Cash, Xavier Rudd, Alex Benjamin, Toots & the Maytals, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Con Brio, Des Rocs, Perta, Walden, Kate Usher & the Sturdy Souls, Bacon Brothers, Trevor Daniel, DJ Ricky For Real.

Sheryl Crow, Duran Duran and Mumford & Sons close out the festival’s fifth year.

Comedy at the humor tent includes a very funny weekend of Pete Holmes & Friends, Kevin Smith, Cristela Alonzo, Cameron Esposito, Bert Kreischer, Jimmy O. Yang, Tig Notaro, Jen Kirkman, Taylor Tomlinson, Wayne Brady, and fan favorite Bob Saget and Tom Green,

When it’s time to take a pit stop from music and comedy, the festival’s food vendors will satisfy anyone’s palate with top chefs showcasing foods and craft drinks.
