Jason Paguio

Paguio’s priorities include protecting the quality of life for residents, making sure neighborhoods are safe and protect the district from irresponsible development. “I think we can either look to the politics and policies of the past or we could turn the page to a new era of progress and prosperity.”

Mike Diaz

Diaz said public safety is his top priority if elected, ensuring that the fire department has adequate staffing levels.
“One day I get a call from a [John McCann] council member saying ‘Mike, we need you to run’,” he said. “And I’m one of those guys that when people ask me to help, I help.”

Rudy Ramirez

Ramirez said one of his priorities includes getting a new fire station for Southwest Chula Vista because the current station is old and worn down.
‘The reason why I’m so interested in this [city council] race is that it is giving me an opportunity to focus on a neighborhood.”
