Mexican authorities have arrested a man believed to be responsible for killing a pregnant Chula Vista woman in 2009.
Jesus Arteaga Garcia allegedly stabbed to death his estranged wife Maribel on December 11, 2009 in the front door of her apartment in front of their two children.
She was pregnant with a third child at the time of her death.
Chula Vista police said in a press release that Jesus Arteaga Garcia had been taken into custody by Mexican officials outside Tijuana today.
The arrest comes as part of a joint effort among members of the US Marshal’s Office, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and Mexican authorities.
