Fourth of July options

The crowds will be out this Independence Day to watch the night sky be lit up with colorful pyrotechnics.

If you do not know where to go celebrate the nation’s birthday, then this partial list os shows may help your planning:

Big Bay Boom
The Port of San Diego’s firework show is  returning to the waterfront this years. Fireworks are scheduled to launch at 9 p.m. from four barges along the San Diego Bay.
Viewing locations include: Shelter Island; Harbor Island; North Embarcadero; Marina District; Seaport Village and South Embarcadero and the Coronado Ferry landing.

San Diego County Fair
The fair will end its summer run on the Fourth of July with plenty of booms and bangs at 9 p.m. Fireworks can easily be seen from any part of the fairgrounds.

Coronado
Coronado kicks off its Independence Day celebration with its annual parade. Also enjoy a concert at Spreckels Park just before the fireworks show a 9 p.m.
Viewing areas include: Hotel Del Coronado; Glorietta Bay and Coronado Ferry Landing.

Escondido
The 53rd annual Independence Day Festival and Fireworks will  be held at the California Center for the Arts Escondido at 340 N. Escondido Blvd. The event starts at 4 p.m. with live music and entertainment,  vendors and activities for the kids.
Fireworks are scheduled to go off  at 9 p.m.

Ocean Beach
Celebrate the Fourth with a fireworks show off the OB Pier. Parking is free at the Main Beach lot and the Pier Parking Lot. The show will be synched with music from the radio station KYXY 96.5 FM.
