Chula Vista’s Memorial Park Bowl will host the annual Viva Música festival on May 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The three-hour festival marks the end of the school-year for musicians from the San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory’s Community Opus Project.
The Community Opus Project was founded in 2010 after funding for the arts was cut from the Chula Vista Elementary School District back in the early 2000s.
Musicians from three different schools will perform along with other youth entertainers, local bands and mariachi groups.
Food and coffee will be provided by local vendors and there will be areas where interested attendees can participate in chalk art and face painting.
