Taste of Third returns

The Taste of Third Avenue returns March 19, offering an evening of food, music, and community in Downtown Chula Vista. From 4 to 8 p.m., attendees can stroll along Third Avenue for a self-guided tasting tour featuring bites and sips from more than 20 participating restaurants.

Hosted by the Downtown Chula Vista Association, the annual event has become a highlight of the district’s growing culinary scene.
Kevin Lewis, owner of 3 Punk Ales, described the event as more immersive than a typical tasting.

“This isn’t just a taste event; it’s a four-hour ‘culinary crawl’ where you get to treat Third Avenue like one giant appetizer sampler for food and drinks,” Lewis said. “We choose to participate so we can spread the good vibes and beer of 3 Punk Ales. Being able to play host to a bunch of new faces and old, we get to showcase what we are about and that great craft beer in Third.”

“It’s vital to showcase longtime staples alongside newer concepts,” said Dominic Li Mandri, district manager for the Downtown Chula Vista Association. “The blending of generational tastes and influences is really a testament to downtown’s resiliency and revitalization efforts these last few years. Downtown has grown with new restaurants and breweries moving in, but we haven’t lost the sense of heritage and authenticity that defined downtown Chula Vista for generations.”

Early bird tickets are $47.50 until sold out, with general admission priced at $53.50. For more information visit https://downtownchulavista.com/do/taste-of-third
