He said the old location did not have the capacity to take care of all of their customers and this is why they tore down their used car lot to build this new state of the art dealership to accommodate its increase in business.

Wilkes said the dealership has  more than 400 new and used cars in its lot.  He said Subaru in National City has seen a 25 percent year over year increase in business.

Wilkes said customers like Subaru’s because they are one of the safest cars on the market, have a high resale value and people like the all wheel drive on the cars.

The dealership was built from the ground up and will feature ample space over two floors, which will include two customer lounges –one equipped with technology and a charging bar  and a quite room will people can bring their laptop and work.

The dealership will also have 40 service bays and three state of the art service lanes that will provide complementary alignment and tire tread depth checks.

Wilkes said the dog park in the dealership should be a hit.

“We get a lot of pets in here,” he said.  “Subaru is a lifestyle car. It’s attractive to all types of buyers from people who like to bike and surf to those with pets.”
