Otay Ranch Town Center is honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with its Celebration and Family Festival on Sept. 17. This retail and dining destination hosts this event each September with an evening of live music, food, cultural performances, and fun activities for the whole family. The event will feature tasty food choices and sampling provided by a selection of vendors and Otay Ranch Town Center tenants, meet and greet opportunities with themed characters, a fun photo booth, face painter and kids’ giveaways tied to Hispanic Heritage Month.
For the first time, the event will extend beyond its traditional times with “Salsa Under the Stars,” a pop-up Salsa dance celebration and musical performance that will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., overlapping with many of the event elements, with guests having many activities to choose from. Hosted by the Manny Cepeda Orchestra quartet, this free program encourages anyone interested in getting their salsa on with some basic instruction and no partner needed, along with fantastic live music. Also new for 2024, the event moves from its traditional Saturday afternoon setup to a Tuesday evening, during the center’s popular weekly Farmers Market.
“The Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration is one our most beloved events and we are thrilled to grow it further and pair it with our weekly Farmers Market which routinely brings visitors from all over the region,” said Otay Ranch Town Center General Manager Tim Kilcourse in a press release. “Now, our community can partake in the festivities and live entertainment while enjoying the weekly market to shop local, including some additional themed vendors.”
