Later this month it will be a dog’s life at Otay Ranch Town Center.
The second annual Dog-Gone Good Fun event returns to the mall at 2015 Birch Road from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 25 during the center’s regularly scheduled weekly farmer’s market.
Amongst the certified farm stands, street foods and handcrafted items, dog lovers and their four-legged pets will get to take selfies, mingle with other dogs and dog owners and enjoy participating in dog-friendly activities.
Deborah Anderson, co-owner of Otay Pet Vets Premier Veterinary Hospital said she is glad the event is back for a second time and she said she hopes it can be a long-standing annual tradition for the center.
“Otay Ranch Town Center is a dog-friendly center and so we just want to celebrate our favorite four-legged friends,” Anderson said.
This year’s Dog-Gone Good Fun event will have free doggie treats – while supplies last- and goodies for humans, a summer costume contest for dogs at the Popper Fountain at 6 p.m.; complimentary canine fitness/weight evaluation, story times at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. presented by the Otay Ranch library and free crafts for kids.
Otay Pet Vets Premier Veterinary Hospital, which is located inside the Otay Ranch Town Center #107, will provide prizes for the top three winners in the dog costume contest. Dr. Kevin Anderson from Otay Pet Vets will conduct the free fitness/weight evaluation and give a recommendation on how to keep dogs healthy and in shape.
Anderson said the event is a way for the South Bay dog owners to enjoy themselves.
“It provides an opportunity for the community to come together as a family with their four legged friends,” she said.
“It just provides a time of fun, learning and being together as a community.”
David Cianelli, general manager of the Otay Ranch Town Center, said the center takes pride in welcoming and accommodating dogs.
