NC council application

Candidates have until the close of business day on Jan. 22 to file an application for the vacant city council seat according to Mike Dalla, city clerk for the city of National City.

The vacancy arose when the former city councilwoman Alejandra Sotelo-Solis was elected mayor in the November 2018 election.

All applicants are asked to provide the following:
1. A completed application form.
2. A resumé.
3. A Form 700, Statement of Economic Interest available via the city clerk or online at www.fppc.ca.gov.
4. Nomination papers with signatures of no less than 20 registered voters.
Paperwork should be submitted to the city clerk no later than Jan. 22 at 1243 National City Blvd.

On Jan. 29, in the city council chamber at 6 p.m., the council will hold applicant interviews, at which time they may choose to fill the vacancy or take some other action it deems appropriate.
