In search of peace and harmony

How can one respond to all of the suffering, the diseases, the refugees, and the endless carnage caused by wars? Wars have been fought since civilization began. We are uncivilized to the extent that some people consider themselves better than others. Now so many are homeless, there are so many crimes. Many thousands of people are on the border with Mexico yearning to become Americans while a large faction of our citizens want to send them back.

Visit a zoo. Animals are in cages. Perhaps they are lucky not to become extinct in the wild. There are now about 1,750,000 behind bars in The United States. Their cages aren’t always larger than the animals at the San Diego Zoo.

Everyone has their own priorities and preferences, their own agenda, and their own metabolism. Will we ever reach a point where the 8 billion people on earth find a way to end wars, and live in peace and harmony together?
