Homeowners fair offers solutions

Looking to purchase a home? Want to make improvements to your current residence? Having trouble making mortgage payments? Visit the free South Bay Homeownership Resource Fair at Chula Vista City Hall, 276 Fourth Ave., on Oct. 29. The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is sponsored by the Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors and the Housing Opportunities Collaborative.

Potential homebuyers and existing homeowners will have access to valuable information and programs to purchase or improve their residence. Vendors will include lenders, realtors, title/escrow, homeowners insurance, contractors, and information will be available on rehabilitation programs, utility assistance programs, appliance rebates and energy conservation ideas. Educational workshops will be held throughout the day providing information on preparing for homeownership, available first-time homebuyer programs, sustaining homeownership through conservation measures and assistance programs, and the short sale and foreclosure process.

The fair will feature interactive booths and “how to” clinics and provide children with an opportunity to dress up for Halloween, trick-or-treat at the vendor booths and join in on a costume contest.
