Hilltop High School senior Leanna Mena recently signed a letter of intent to play for the women’s golf team at Simpson University.

Mena competed on Hilltop’s girls golf team all four years of her high school career.

“Each year she showed improvement in the game of golf and was a star player who often would take the time to assist her teammates in the sport,” Hilltop coach Robyn Gossett explained.

“She made it to the CIF playoffs, playing as an individual for the last three years and showed improvement in her game each year.

“I could not be more proud of Leanna for all that she has accomplished. She will be missed and never forgotten.”

Simpson University is located in Redding.
