Funds available for low-income senior programs and projects

Bob Kelly and his team from BK Foundation Advisors are inviting nonprofits who serve low-income older adults in Chula Vista and South County to submit a Letter of Intent for programs and projects. The deadline for submitting LOIs is April 6, and applicants must submit one page per idea.

Submissions should be a few paragraphs up to one page for each idea, including an estimated budget for request(s). If the foundation is interested, BK Foundation advisor will meet with the applicant in late April and request a formal application.

There are two amount ranges for LOIs available:
$1,000 – $15,000 around programs, services, and needs for low-income seniors.
$175,000 -$1 million for capital improvements, purchasing, development for senior housing and other facilities.

The Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of older adults experiencing economic challenges through investments and grantmaking in, but not limited to the following areas:

Affordable housing and accommodations to support aging in place.
Affordable transportation.
Programs to support social engagement.
