A judge ordered three men and a juvenile July 25 to stand trial for the murder of a Chula Vista man shot to death May 19 after leaving a child’s birthday party in Otay Mesa.

Reynaldo Bonoan, 28, was shot in the back at 4:20 p.m. and the bullet went into his heart and lungs, said Deputy District Attorney Allen Brown. He died minutes later on a sidewalk in the 3400 block of Alonquin Way in Otay Mesa.
Andrew James Oliver, 22, Mikee Hanes, 18, Tyrone Lamar Cannady Jr., 20, and a 17-year-old boy were all ordered to stand trial for murder and robbery of Bonoan. They have pleaded not guilty. Chula Vista Superior Court Judge Francis Devaney conducted the preliminary hearing. A trial date will be set for all four defendants on Aug. 8.
