Chula Vista’s Amps & Ales festival to showcase craft beer

Avenue Amps & Ales, Chula Vista’s craft beer and music festival, is back and hoppier than ever as the Third Avenue Village will be rocking from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

Guests are invited to South Bay’s uprising to imbibe in unlimited samples of more than 50 craft beers. The event will host more than 25 craft breweries, live bands and food vendors at Memorial Park.

The 21-and-older crowd can savor unique brews from industry veterans including Belching Beaver, Gordon Biersch and Fall Brewing while enjoying distinct South Bay flavor with Bay Bridge Brewing, NOVO Brazil and Chula Vista Brewery, the newest craft beer addition to Third Avenue.

The event extends internationally from Baja to Belgium and offers tastes from Insurgente and Mikkeller, among others. Ticket holders also can enjoy tastings from more than 20 additional San Diego breweries, fermented ciders, spirits and wine-making.

Sprung Monkey, The Montell Jordans and The Routine will provide the tunes to amplify Memorial Park and entertain the crowd with live music.

Premier sponsor Seven Mile Casino, located on Chula Vista’s bayfront, will have a booth in the beer garden.

As the craft beer industry continues to grow in Third Avenue Village and Chula Vista at large, Avenue Amps & Ales has been created to quench the thirst of South Bay and San Diego beer enthusiasts. The event sold out last year.

Tickets for the unlimited sampling of more than 50 craft beers are $55 for VIP and $40 for general admission. Ticket proceeds will be donated to the Chula Vista Police Foundation. To purchase tickets, visit www.readertickets.com/events/32437662/avenue-amps-amp-ales.
