Chula Vista teen selected as student leader awarded internship

Diana Garcia of Chula Vista was recently selected as a Bank of America Student Leader and as a result will participate in the bank’s eight-week paid summer internship.

The program connects students with non-profit agencies to gain practical office skills and earn money, earning $17 hour.

“By providing resources for young adults to gain the work skills and leadership experience they need to succeed, we are investing in San Diego’s long-term economic growth,” said Rick Bregman, president, Bank of America San Diego. “The teens selected for this paid summer intern program are truly extraordinary, and we’re thrilled to provide this opportunity to connect them with local nonprofits. The Student Leaders program is just one example of how we connect people to meaningful employment resources, and ultimately build a strong pipeline of diverse talent for our workforce.”

An E3 Civic High School graduate, Garcia will attend UCLA this fall.
