Abandoned duty

The Republican Party is guilty of dereliction of duty. How long can they sit on their behinds while doing nothing about gun violence. Every senator, or congressperson who says now is not the time, or that regulations won’t help can hang their head in shame for their callous indifference to the human suffering which continues daily when more and more innocent people are shot.
Nobel laureate Bob Dylan composed a song called Masters of War. He said in part:
Verse 4
You fasten the triggers for others to fire
Then you sit back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people’s blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
Verse 5
You’ve thrown the worst fear
That can ever hurled
Fear to bring children into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain’t worth the blood
That runs in your veins
Truer words have never been spoken.

  1. Guns vs butter. The debate has persisted for decades. The current budget Republicans are debating has arch conservative Republicans trying to add money for Defense spending, corporations, and wealthy donors of the party on the right. How can they do that when the government is trillions of dollars in debt. They take money from health care, Social Security and Medicare. The dogmatic, obdurate party of the Tea Party looks down on all those who cannot afford health care of their. The rich and shameless strike again and again with one party controlling government.
