The 41st annual Bonita Optimist-Lady Barons Holiday Basketball Tournament tips off Monday and concludes Thursday with consolation and championship games, all at Bonita Vista High School.
Scripps Ranch returns to defend its championship while South Bay entrants include the host Chula Vista Spartans and the tourney host Barons.
Also entered in the eight-team tournament are Morse, Helix, Crawford, University City and Alhambra (Ariz.).
Teams are divided into two four-team pools. The defending champion Falcons are placed in the same pool alongside Chula Vista, Morse and Helix.
Bonita Vista, University City, Crawford and Alhambra comprise the other pool.
Pool play tips off Monday and continues through Wednesday. Three consolation games on Thursday (at 2:30, 4 and 5:30 p.m.) precede the championship game at 7 p.m.
Monday’s schedule: Helix vs. Morse, 2:30 p.m. Chula Vista vs. Scripps Ranch, 4 p.m.; Crawford vs. Alhambra, 5:30 p.m.; University City vs. Bonita Vista, 7 p.m.
Tuesday’s schedule: Crawford vs. University City, 2:30 p.m.; Alhambra vs. Bonita Vista, 4 p.m.; Helix vs. Chula Vista, 5:30 p.m.; Morse vs. Scripps Ranch, 7 p.m.
Wednesday’s schedule: Alhambra vs. University City, 2:30 p.m.; Morse vs. Chula Vista, 4 p.m.; Bonita Vista vs. Crawford, 5:30 p.m.; Scripps Ranch vs. Helix, 7 p.m.
