Hopefully this task force will be able to get community and parents involved in making more assertive efforts to make the districts bilingual program effective for these students. It's obvious there is a problem.

A little late but I just needed to say that I knew the egotistical, disrespectful bully. Do people change? Perhaps but not thoroughly. But I'd bet that this p**** still possesses those same traits today. I believe he has his own agenda to get what he wants and will do anything to be successful at it. God knows how he got to become a principal at a school but I would've taken my kid out of that school quickly. All he is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Term limits is a step in the right direction. Change of the guard is necessary as not doing so leads to complacency and a good old boy network. Let's take a moment to reflect on the cronyism and corruption that plagued SUHSD - several of those Board members had been there FOREVER. While Mr. McCann may not be in favor of limits, many of us are - serve your communities then move on and get a regular job - even though a regular job will not offer notoriety the majority does it each and every day.

Self-serving, aren't they?

What was the cost of NOT having an election for the spot vacated by the mayor? How many legal inquiries and actions? So Mr. Miesen is appointed, still does business with the city, recuses himself from time to time, but his judgment is not affected by his dual jobs.

Why is it that the city council is not trusted again? Oh, yes, I remember--because they have forgotten to represent the people who voted them in...and are acting like inheritors of the Divine Right of Kings. Yes, we need hard term limits, and we needed them yesterday.

"McCann's concern over imposing stricter term limits is the city's status when it comes to council members sitting on chairs and commissions."

Do you have to be a council member to sit in commissions and chairs? Why does a changing of the guard on a city council affect that? Many members of the public chair committees without being a council member.

"Councilman Steve Miesen said he is not fond of hard term limits but expressed a concern over the cost of getting such a proposition on the ballot."

Don't all propositions have a cost of getting it on the ballot? Does Mr. Miesen express such concerns for other propositions? Or only ones that may limit his ability to continue a career polition pathway?

Nice article. Team record 33-6-1. 40-33 does not look all that impressive.

The Macdonalds owner should stop his crying in public. He comes across as mistrustful, of his employees, and he owns 10 stores? Pathetic., It's the law now. I wonder if he ever got sick in his life? I won't shop at his CV stores now.
