The Sweetwater High School boys basketball team has six games remaining on its regular season schedule, including five Metro-Pacific League match-ups following Wednesday’s 70-45 league opening win against visiting Hilltop to extend the fourth-ranked Red Devils record to 19-0.
Will Sweetwater crown the 2013-14 campaign with a 25-0 regular season record? At this point, it remains a possibility, though SuHi coach Jesse Aguirre will likely say his team is simply focusing on its next game: Friday at west side rival Chula Vista.
Tip-off is 7 p.m.
The Devils remained undefeated as Spencer Mattox poured in 27 points, C.J. Cadua dropped in 15 points and Raymond Dibella collected 10 points.
Mattox is averaging 25.1 points per game this season while Cadua is averaging 14.3 points per game.
Sweetwater, with a 79.4 game scoring average, has twice eclipsed the 100-point mark this season. The Devils topped host Montgomery, 98-66, last Friday.
Sweetwater has the top record among San Diego Section Division III teams. Next in line are Kearny (16-2), Calvin Christian (15-4), Del Norte (16-6) and West Hills (13-6), Foothills Christian (13-7).
