The Mustangs sped past San Ysidro in a non-league dual on March 15. Otay Ranch captured the boys end of the meet by a score of 130-28 and won the girls end of the meet by a score of 136-25. The Mustang girls team won all events, including relays, and finished 1-2-3 in individual events.

In a Mesa League dual meet on March 20, Otay Ranch prevailed over Hilltop by scores of 116-72 (boys) and 142-42 (girls).
Medina noted that Hilltop has a large and strong team, making the Mustangs’ win over the Lancers impressive. “They are coached well,” the ORHS coach said in regard of the Hilltop team. “They have a power dive squad.”
The Lancers are fielding one of their largest dive teams this season. “Consistently, about 33 divers are showing up to practice,” HHS swim coach John Salts said.
Top varsity performers on the girls side include Veronica Guzman, Kennedy Miranda, Samantha Dow, Jacquelin Zatarain and Victoria Waleale.
Top varsity performers on the boys side include Darius Marguet, Josh Fischer, Zach Passwaters and Angel Soto.
Both Guzman and Marguet are returning Mesa League Divers of the Year.
Salts believes all of the above listed divers on the team have a chance of posting qualifying marks for May San Diego Section championship event.
Both Guzman and Miranda have the potential, Salts said, to make a stab at earning a CIF medal by placing in the top eight of the field.
The Hilltop dive team remains undefeated in four meets thus far this season, posting winning marks each time in dual competition against Mar Vista, High Tech Chula Vista, San Ysidro and Otay Ranch.
On the swimming side, Hilltop swept both ends of its meets against HTCV and San Ysidro.
