High school girls soccer all-star game set July 2 at Southwestern College Phillip Brents | Thu, Jun 30 2011 01:55 PM

The Metro Conference girls soccer coaches will unveil their senior all-star game on  July 2  at 7 p.m. at Southwestern College’s Devore Stadium.

The format features an east versus west alignment, with the dividing line being the 805 freeway. Schools from the South Bay League and the Mesa League will contribute players to fill out the rosters of the two teams.

“This is a community involved event showcasing our very own South Bay girls soccer players who have graduated and will be moving on to bigger and better things,” Otay Ranch coach Mike Diaz said. “This is one last high school soccer event that the players can look back on.”

East team roster: Bianka Saenz (Otay Ranch), Carmen Wheeler (Otay Ranch), Claudia Viallatoro (San Ysidro), Destiny Tapia (Otay Ranch), Fernanda Camacho (Mar Vista), Jennifer Ortega (Otay Ranch), Jessica Maciel (San Ysidro), Renee Lopez (Mar Vista), Shara Papapietro (Mater Dei Catholic), Thania Ceja (Mar Vista), Uilani Himan (Otay Ranch), Yazmin Osorio (Otay Ranch). Note: Mar Vista will include players for the East team.

West team roster: Adrienne Bidwell (Chula Vista), Alejandra Gomez (Castle Park), Alexis Moreno (Southwest), Ariel Estrada (Hilltop), Erica Garcia (Hilltop), Gabriela Paez (Southwest), Jessica Villa (Chula Vista), Karen Galvez (Montgomery), Marisa Espino (Hilltop), Samantha Martinez (Hilltop), Tamara Rojas (Sweetwater), Maribel Gutierrez (Southwest).
