Harlem Globetrotters to bring summer skills clinic to Chula Vista June 20-22 Phillip Brents | Fri, Jun 14 2013 02:00 PM

The world famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their renowned summer skills clinics to 24 Hour Fitness clubs in the San Diego area from June 17-22. It’s a first for the region.

During their six days in San Diego, Globetrotter stars will lead a total of 18 two-hour clinics.

The first clinic will take place June 17-19 at 24 Hour Fitness Santee Sport, 9906 Mission Gorge Road, Santee. Sessions are 9 to 11 a.m., 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The second clinic is scheduled June 20-22 at 24 Hour Fitness Bonita Sport, 870 Amena Court, Chula Vista. Sessions are 9 to 11 a.m., 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The Globetrotters will be on-court for each two-hour session — coaching, motivating, inspiring and entertaining participating children. The stars of the team make clinics inclusive and fun for boys and girls ages 6-12  of all skill and experience levels.

The Globetrotters’ summer skills clinics were introduced in select markets in 2012 with positive reviews from parents and children alike.  Last summer’s success prompted new markets in 2013, including San Diego.

Space in each clinic is limited. Registration is $59 per session.  Parents can find more information and purchase clinic spots at www.harlemglobetrotters.com/clinics.

The original Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating their 87th consecutive year and are continuing a world famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to amaze fans of all ages.

The team has showcased its iconic talents in 121 countries and territories on six continents in its history, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers while providing fans with their first-ever basketball experience.

The Globetrotters have entertained hundreds of millions of fans — among them popes, kings, queens, and presidents — for more than eight decades.
