Sat, May 11 2013 03:16 PMWay to show what you are capable of, girls!
Congratulations continued success!
Looks like Ed Brand and Bill MacLaughlin were wrong when they were telling everyone Sweetwater teams can't win...and need their own easier CIF section.
I hope each and every member of these teams calls their superintendent and tells him with vehemence how wrong he is!

Mon, Apr 22 2013 08:33 AMGood questions, anniej--
It must be that the word is not getting out, that people just can't believe that a superintendent, namely Ed Brand, would be this blatantly greedy and out for himself.
Or people are numbed into inaction because of the seeming impossibility of getting the board of trustees to act like the independent entity which it is supposed to be.
Yet those of us who do pay attention--and are mocked for it by those who like the status quo of corruption--will keep up the pressure. We will watch Ed Brand and the loyal voting block EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.
We will keep track of all the shortcuts, all the favors, all the contracts given to pals, all the attempts to create jobs for Ed's pals...because we know that is not how things are supposed to work.
I have been beyond appalled since this disgusting travesty of a school board first revealed how pathetically inept they are. They sealed the deal when they brought Brand back and then became a party to his complete corruption by giving him that contract last September. The voting block is in it, and they are in it "deep". There is no other explanation for their behavior. Although McCann has not been indicted--curiously--so why does he ALWAYS go along with Ed Brand. Political favors for the future? Whatever the excuse is, it is beyond sickening.

Sun, Apr 21 2013 06:46 PMThe majority of the board is under indictment, facing felony indictments, the majority of the board has turned the district over to Ed Brand. They handed our children over to him on a silver platter - he the imposter, he the one who claims "it's all about the kids". Was it all about the kids when he resigned, over MORE MONEY????, then squirmed back in when they open the cash boxes and basically said, "take it, take it all".
People, wake up, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for the authorities to do what you have control over? WHY! WHY WAIT?

Sun, Apr 21 2013 04:14 PMI am simply at a loss. Mr. Rubio was there the evening that they cut ROP so what 'other life choices' is he referring to? He also uses the buzz words, 'different career pathways' - again I say why is he not speaking of the truths that afflict our district?
Brands new intention of becoming a sports mogul, give me a break! CIF has several changes on the horizon that will positively impact SUHSD's student athletes. If Brand wanted to do something to help, our sports programs, perhaps he might want to take a look at the programs and the few resources we are offering them. Take a look at consistent, year after year, loss records and work to correct the true issues. His idea, lets move all of the star athletes to the east side via the open enrollment. His idea is aligning Bonita with the major power house high schools - easy win. Hmm. I thought Brand was telling everyone how he was going to offer fair competition, even out the playing field. Parents, do NOT allow Brand to negatively impact our district sports programs. There was a reason McLaughlin did not get the endorsement of the CIF and awarded the presidency position - there was a reason they gave it to Schniepp, our previous district AD, THINK ABOUT THAT!!!!
