Bonita Vista High School graduate Kayla Jordan hit a walk-off grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the San Diego State University softball team to a 7-4 conference victory against Iowa State Friday at the Fresno State Classic.
The home run was the fourth of the season for Jordan and the first walk-off win for the Aztecs this season.
Jordan cleaned the bases with one out on a 2-1 count with a drive down the right field line.
SDSU (11-10) dropped a 3-2 non-conference decision to No. 9 Oregon to close out Friday’s double-header.
Rebecca Arbino (Clovis) earned the win in the opener after striking out 15 batters in nine innings. The 15 strikeouts are tied for second most in a single game in program history.
