The number of undefeated football teams in the San Diego Section has dwindled significantly in the last few weeks. Just four remain unbeaten: the Madison Warhawks (8-0), St. Augustine Saints (8-0), Poway Titans (7-0-1) and National City's Kuyper Prep Admirals (6-0).

The Admirals play in the Sunset League, the section’s eight-man football loop, and have a regular season championship showdown set against the Maranatha Christian Eagles on Friday, Nov. 11.

Maranatha Christian is 6-1 overall and 4-0 in league play. The Eagles are playing a must-win game the Ocean View Christian Academy Patriots on Friday, Nov. 4. Kick-off is 7 p.m.

Ocean View (6-2) sits in third place in the Sunset League standings at 4-1. Classical Academy is 1-3 in league play, 4-3 overall, in fourth place.

Kuyper Prep, which is playing out of the area against Sylmar Concordia on Saturday, Nov. 5, defeated Warner Springs, 56-0, last Friday to remain undefeated on the season.

Greg Marshall passed for 116 yards and one touchdown while the Admirals rushed for 305 yards by committee. Caleb Northcutt had 125 yards on five carries while David Lozoya had 67 yards on three rushes, Markus Fulford had 52 yards on seven carries, Steven Hannibal had 26 yards on four carries, Fernando Castaneda had 23 yards on three rushes and Marshall had two carries for 12 yards.

Northcutt snapped off a 62-yard run in the game while Lozoya had one long ground gainer go for 44 yards.

Northcutt had two catches for 51 yards while Hannibal had one catch for 65 yards.

Northcut had two touchdowns in the game while Lozoya, Hannibal, Fulford and Castaneda each had one touchdown. The team was successful on seven two-point conversion attempts, with Northcutt, Hannibal and Fulford each recording two conversions and Castaneda converting one attempt.

Lozoya and Zack Keifner each recorded one sack on defense while Jonathan Keifner had one fumble recovery.

For the season, Kupyer Prep is averaging 56.6 points per game while allowing an average of 12.1 points.

Maranatha is averaging 58.4 points per game while allowing an average of 19.4 points; Ocean View is averaging 40.2 points per game while allowing 18.0 points.

Ocean View defeated Vista Calvary Christian Academy, 64-6, last Friday.

OVCA running back Josh Smith is averaging 125 yards per game.
