Two men, two decades for killing

Two men who stabbed a 22-year-old man to death in 2012 in Chula Vista were sentenced June 5 to 25 and 22 years in prison respectively.

Angel Michael Nunez, 22, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for his second-degree murder conviction plus 10 years consecutively for assault for waving a knife in the face of a 17-year-old girl before Juan Navarro, 22, was mortally wounded on Sept. 25, 2012 afterwards.

The sentencing of Alex Flores Rubio, 21, was moved up to June 5 so all the victims’ family members and friends could attend the sentencing before Chula Vista Superior Court Judge Edward Allard III.
