Castle Park inaugurated its new field with an 18-0 non-league victory against visiting San Ysidro on Tuesday as Sweetwater district superintendent Dr. Ed Brand and former Trojan standout Dawn Wood were present to throw out ceremonial first pitches.

According to CPHS principal Tom Glover, the new facility is completely refurbished with new fan seating, a renovated field, new dugouts, a relocated concession stand, bullpens and batting cages.

The funds were made available through Proposition O to make the upgrades, according to Brand.
Laurynn Estes threw a complete game to pick up the win.

The Olympian High School senior pitched a perfect game April 11 against visiting Southwest. She struck out the first batter and then retired the next 20 Raiders on either pop-ups or ground-outs to face the minimum number of hitters (21) in a game. Farmer has recorded two of the Eagles’ four wins on the season.
