Olympian boys lacrosse team tops Mar Vista, 13-3, hikes mark to 5-1

The fledgling Olympian High School boys lacrosse team improved to 5-1 after defeating visiting Mar Vista, 13-3, Friday night. Senior Christian Benitez scored four goals and tacked on one assist to earn player of the game honors, according to coach Keith Quigley.
 
Michael Machuca contributed five goals to the winning effort while Anthony Hughes had two goals two assists and Carlo Reyes had two goals.

Machuca (19 goals, four assists) and Benitez (16 goals, six assists) are vying for the team scoring lead with 23 and 22 total points, respectively. On the defensive side of the field, Fernando Medel has collected 56 ground balls and also has won 56 face-offs.

The Eagles next play at Chula Vista on Thursday, April 3. Game time is 4 p.m.
