Neck stabbing on Buckeye

A Chula Vista woman was ordered to stand trial for attempted murder of an acquaintance who was stabbed in the neck in his home in El Cajon.

Lymarie Rodriguez, 29, is accused of stabbing Demetri Jordan Jr. on July 11 in his home on Buckeye Drive in El Cajon. When El Cajon Police arrived, both Jordan and Rodriguez were taken to a hospital for stab wounds.

El Cajon Superior Court Judge Gary Bubis ordered Rodriguez to next appear in court on Aug. 27 to set a trial date. She has pleaded not guilty and remains in the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility on $200,000 bail.

Rodriguez and Jordan had met while they were both in the Navy, but they were not in a relationship or dating each other. Jordan identified Rodriguez as his attacker.

Jordan was stabbed in the base of his neck.

The motive for the assault did not come out in court, said the prosecutor.
