"One of the hardest things to do in any sport, but specifically football, is to continue to improve each week," SWC head coach Ed Carberry said. "Practice and drill become routine and we all have to come to practice with a goal for the team but also for each individual player to achieve.

"This year's team and staff have done a great job of getting better...  When a team on the incline (even ever so slightly up) meets a team on a slight decline at the end of the season the game is usually a blowout... That's what happened this past weekend against Victor Valley.

As for the Jaguars' post-season picture: There are 37 teams in Souhtern Califonria and 14 will play in bowl games. Teams must win a mnimum of six games to be bowl-eligible.

SWC closes out regular season play on Saturday with a 6 p.m. game at Chaffey.
