Green incentives

As part of the city of Chula Vista’s Home Upgrade, Carbon Downgrade program and San Diego Gas & Electric’s (SDG&E) Energy Upgrade California program, Chula Vista residents can now receive incentives of up to $8,000 for making energy-saving improvements to their homes.

Recently, SDG&E launched a new incentive program called Energy Upgrade California. Program participants can receive incentives of up to $4,000 for making “whole home” energy improvements such as installing efficient furnaces, air conditioners, air ducts, water heaters and insulation. Incentive amounts are based on the percent of energy savings resulting from the improvements. To further help Chula Vista residents with home improvement costs, the city of Chula Vista Home Upgrade, Carbon Downgrade program is offering a matching incentive (up to $4,000) for local homeowners participating in SDG&E’s Energy Upgrade California program. All home improvements must be performed by an Energy Upgrade California-qualified contractor to help ensure high levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction. Incentives are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so act now.
