The board of directors of Chula Vista Seniors Club of Norman Park Center came up with an idea of helping potential students.
It knew that the club couldn't afford to pay for a tuition, but it can help with some of the small but necessary things that going to school entails.
So who is eligible for a $200 grant from the Chula Vista Seniors Club? Anyone who is at least 50 years old, a club member, is or will be enrolled in schooling full- or part-time by Aug. 15 and needs some help to "make it happen." Priority will go to those who show: 1) financial need; 2) educational achievement; 3) community involvement; 4) responsibility for other family members living at home and 5) skill in overcoming obstacles.
