If there was a true threat and the court found that the claim had merit, then I could be persuaded for the District to pick up the tab. Considering the fact that this was a frivolous claim from the start and that John McCann himself was the instigator -- and the TRO was found to be WITHOUT merit, the cost thereof should be borne 100% by John McCann. It's unconscionable for Ed Brand to place this financial burden upon the community and the KIDS for whom he pledges his loyalty.

Ms. Davis: Mr. McCann may be a good guy, i do not know him personally.

my point of view, and the majority of the community is that he does NOT belong on the sweetwater union high school district board, and he does not belong in public office - that is the reason for him being subject to the current RECALL.

not sure about his campaign contributions when he ran for city council, at the time i would have never thought it was an issue, those he received when he ran for our board however were and continue to be a real issue as they included those who have recently pled guilty - including one he received in the last quarter of 2011 by one of the guilty parties for an election he won in 2010 - it was an effort to help him pay off his campaign debt.

additionally his outbursts when he was a city council person, and those he has displayed since being elected to the board, which are well documented - simply unacceptable for ANY POLITICIAN. and now we have the Mr. Payne incident.

John McCann is a good guy. I had the privilege of serving with him on the city council. We should protect, and support him. He cares about our children and works to better their education.

McCann thinks he is above everyone else. He was like that when he pretended to be a Council member and has not changed. I loved hearing that he lost his restraining order. Why should tax dollars go toward a spoiled politician? If the person represented himself in court, so should McCann. Who does this "cub scout" think he is!

funny you should ask, yes i too have those days - each and every month when i have to preview the board agenda for the board meeting. then i have to write my comments - knowing full well THAT THEY WILL NOT EVEN BE LISTENED TO. while i am use to it, the total disrespect that pearl quinones showed last week as teachers, students, and taxpaying parents was a travesty.

regarding the poll, just call it - NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND BELIEVES THAT mccann SHOULD HAVE HIS LEGAL FEES PAID, according to his speech at the hilltop meeting NEITHER DOES HE.

hope today is a winner.

as one community member who religiously reads this web site - thanks, for the coverage of sweetwater but also thank you for reporting all of the news of our little village called the so bay.

AnnieJ...ever have one of those days where you wonder why you got out of bed? Thanks for the heads up. I'll pass the comment along to our tech guy.

To me it appears votes are registering, though it would be more telling if some people would vote yes,at least that way I could some sort of comparison or barometer.

I'll keep you posted.

Carlos

i believe there is a problem with the voting booth. votes are not showing up, nor is the option to vote.
