• National City’s Four­th of July Carnival, Kimball Park — D Avenue/East 12th Street in National City
July 1-5.
National City celebrates Independence Day with a weekend long carnival featuring rides, games and fireworks on July 4 at 9 p.m.
• The annual Big Bay Boom July 4 Fireworks Show.
Find a comfortable place along San Diego Bay to watch the largest fireworks display in the county. Colorful pyrotechnics will be launched from four barges around the bay. Ideal viewing spots can be found at Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero and Seaport Village/Coronado Landing. 9 p.m.
• Sea to Shining Sea 4th of Ju­­ly Fireworks. After you catch the show along the bay you can watch another one a short time later at SeaWorld San Diego. Their fireworks show starts at 10 p.m.
• In Ocean Beach fireworks will be launched from the OB pier beginning at 9 p.m.
• Coronado celebrates the country’s independence with a 4th of July Celebration from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The festivities begin with a parade down Orange Avenue at 10 a.m. A 4 p.m. concert will be held at Spreckels Park and fireworks will be launched from Glorietta Bay at 9 p.m.
• If you’re enjoying the waning hours of the county fair, the San Diego County Fair 4th of July Celebration begins at 9 p.m. However the fun starts in the morning with a Hometown Heroes parade at 9:30 a.m., a performance by the Navy Band Southwest at 7 p.m. and a fireworks display afterward.
• In La Jolla the Fourth of July Fireworks at La Jolla Cove begin at 9 p.m. One of the most picturesque places from which to watch the fireworks is Ellen Browning Scripps Park, 1180 Coast Blvd.
• In Carlsbad Legoland is celebrating Red, White and BOOM! with a relatively early fireworks show at the amusement park. Pyrotechnics are set to start at 8:30 p.m., but that’s after a day of all-American picnic games like burlap races and water-balloon tosses.
• The Oceanside fireworks show ends a day-long celebration from 6 to 10 p.m. on July 3 at Corazon Site on Rancho del Oro Road.
• The Independence Day Festival & Fireworks celebration in Escondido starts at 4 p.m. and features food, vendors and children’s activities at 340 N. Escondido Blvd. The fireworks start at 9 p.m.
• In Fallbrook the Grand Tradition July 4th celebration features family friendly activities, food and drink at 220 Grand Tradition Way. The festivities start at 2 p.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m.
• The Mira Mesa Fourth of July Celebration at Mira Mesa Community Park, Mira Mesa Boulevard and New Salem Street, features a parade and a 9 p.m. show.
• Poway celebrates An Old Fashioned Fourth of July and Fireworks from 7 to 10 p.m. at Poway High School Stadium, 15500 Espola Road, Poway
• In Rancho Bernardo The Spirit of the Fourth is at Webb Park from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., starting off with a pancake breakfast in the morning and fireworks at 9 p.m.
• The San Marcos 4th of July Celebration is from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bradley Park, Rancho Sante Fe Road and Linda Vista Drive. Events include carnival games, jumpers, and food.
• The Vista Independence Day Celebration with fireworks is at Moonlight Amphitheatre, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive from 5 to 9 p.m.
• The El Cajon 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks celebration is at Kennedy Park, 1675 E. Madison Ave. from noon to 10 p.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m.
• The Ramona Rotary Community Fireworks and Family Picnic at Olive Pierce Middle School,1521 Hanson Lane, is from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and features food and fireworks.
• Santee celebrates Independence Day with Santee Salutes at Town Center Community Park East, 550 Park Center Drive, from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m.
