Xolos need to find Ws

Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente transformation is still a work in progress.

At Estadio Caliente Friday they faced Cruz Azul in an entertaining game that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Despite not losing the Xolos have a lot of work to do since the offense has been silent and the team only has one victory in the first five games of the season—against Dorados who are last place overall and remain winless during this tournament.

Tijuana’s squad should had been defeated by the visitors who were very persistent but they got lucky since Cruz Azul had enough opportunities but their strikers could not put the ball in the net.

Defender Julio Dominguez scored for the visitors in the 28th minute when he sent a header from a corner kick because of a defensive miscue that left him alone.

These types of mistakes have occurred throughout the season and coach Miguel Herrera needs to adjust his defense during indirect plays because it’s costing his team the game.

Two minutes later Xolos striker Henry Marin was fouled inside the penalty box and a penalty kick was awarded.
Forward Dayro Moreno scored the equalizer when he fooled goalkeeper Jesus Corona as he waited until the last moment to show the way of where his shot was going, by the time he was set on shooting to the right side of the goal the goalie had already decided on staying put and was unable to stop the incoming goal.

Friday will be difficult for the Xolos since they face the current champion Tigres UANL in a venue that is considered one of the most adverse to visitors because of the fan base they have.
