Valentine's gift ideas Nohely Mendoza | Sat, Feb 11 2012 12:00 PM

Cupid’s big day is next Tuesday, which means it’s time to head over to the local malls and show your sweetie how much you love them with an appropriate gift, right?

Nearby locations like Forever 21, H&M, Victoria’s Secret and Hallmark are all shopping destinations known to have Valentine’s Day gifts for both him and her.

Forever 21 sales associate Tiffany Lopez says the most popular items for the big day are lingerie and sleepwear.

“Our line called Cupid’s Pick has a lot of cute stuff, but the most recommended items are lingerie and sleepwear for women,” she said.

H&M has a new line out for men called David Beckham Bodywear that seems to be popular for Valentine’s Day.

“We have our David Beckham collection for men that just premiered and includes both underwear and sleepwear,” said H & M’s Angel Garcia. “For the ladies, we have bras on sale for $7.”

The David Beckham Bodywear collection includes pieces less than $30 and can be found at the H&M locations in Plaza Bonita mall and Otay Ranch Town Center.
Valentine’s Day is a big day for lingerie purchases and Victoria’s Secret is already preparing for Feb. 14.
“People are buying fragrances, we have the Bombshell perfume and it comes with a free body lotion. We also just got the new Gorgeous collection that has pretty colors in both panties and bras,” said Carla Sandoval of  Victoria’s Secret. “Right now we have an offer going on, if you have a $75 purchase you get a free box of chocolates.”
Victoria’s Secret items and sales can be found at local stores in Otay Ranch Town Center, Plaza Bonita and Chula Vista Center.
Hallmark considers Valentine’s Day to be the biggest time of the year. Sales associate Muriel Hayiter says that the most popular gifts for men are stuffed bears, gorillas and dogs, and for women bears, vases and blown glass that say “I Love You.”
Hallmark items can be found at their local stores at the Vons shopping center and Chula Vista Center.
Valentine’s Day is next Tuesday, Feb. 14.
