Summer prelim for burglars

An alleged burglar at a Chula Vista house where a teenager hid in the closet was ordered April 19 to face a July 2 preliminary hearing.

There are two juvenile suspects, but Robin Sadik, 18, is the only adult charged with entering a home on Avenida Altamira where 15-year-old Doyin Oladipupo was at home on March 20 when she heard three people break into her home.

The home’s security system told her someone had opened a window. She had seen three people knocking at the front door earlier, but didn’t answer it. She called 911 from her parents’ walk-in closet and the dispatcher had her tap responses so the burglars would not hear her. The junior at Eastlake High School hid under a rack of clothes and remained composed.

Chula Vista Police arrested Sadik, of El Cajon, and two 17-year-old boys. The minors have been charged in Juvenile Court and their cases are not public record.

Sadik has pleaded not guilty to burglary, auto theft, receiving stolen property, and giving a false name to police. He remains in the South Bay Detention Facility on $145,000 bail.
