Brian Christian Rolstad, 29, of Chula Vista in March was sentenced to 18 years and eight months for attempted murder and the beating of his wife who suffered 63 stab wounds.

San Diego Superior Court Judge Esteban Hernandez gave Rolstad credit for already serving 297 days in jail since his arrest on June 15, 2010. He was ordered to pay $5,298 to a crime victims compensation fund.
