We support U

We Support U has been able to provide support and treatment for many people in our different communities. Thanks for sponsors and supporters in our region, many of those patients have been able to receive the necessary support and resources to succeed in their fight against cancer.

Cynthia was 34 years old with breast cancer, which is not common at her age. WSU was able to help her with free treatment, support  groups, counseling, and assist in fundraising for her expenses.

Dinorah was 46 when she lost her insurance, but WSU helped her go through the system. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, and brain cancer twice. We helped her with free treatment, transportation, MRI, radiation, counseling and transportation.

Enrique was 73 years old when he was diagnosed with liver cancer. We helped him with transportation and translation during his medical and hospital appointments. Our goal was to provide with some quality of life.

Tania was 4 years old and was diagnosed with brain cancer. We helped her with a humanitarian visa, family counseling, family resources, free radiation treatment.  Her wish was to have a TV and Disney movies, and a play house that she was able to play with. We were able to provide her with quality of life.
We Support continues to have many different programs and services to support cancer patients and their families.

These are some of our programs we provide to the community:

Awareness Education – This Program continually provides training, education and support to our committed Health Promoters and volunteers.

We Support You – Unique case management program that helps patients to obtain the best suitable treatments through navigation, information, access to care, services and programs.

Men’s Health – A day dedicated to navigate men to community resources and educational programs while going through a cancer process themselves or when supporting their loved ones.

My Angel Alejandra – This program provides assistance to low-income and underprivileged individuals in obtaining the basic necessities to improve their quality of life.

Art for Healing – Dedicated to creating hope behind the importance of the arts as a vehicle to create positive transformation in children and youth facing adversity.

Holistic Healing – Provide the ability to take a proactive role in their treatment and recovery. Healing therapies, it is in addition to conventional cancer treatments.

In order to continue all these programs and support services to our communities We Support U started an annual event to raise funds. The Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk helps raise those funds needed to support local cancer patients by promoting health education, early detection, cancer awareness, and comprehensive care management.

Thanks to supporters and caring people in our communities, We Support U has been able to improve cancer prevention, screening and survival among underserved, low-income communities and to be the comprehensive link between healthcare providers, cancer patients and their families, and community resources.

We Support U is happy to present the 2nd annual Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk. This run will take place on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Bayside Park in Chula Vista. It will be a 5K Run through a scenic course alongside the San Diego Bay. This course provides beautiful views of the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge and the San Diego Skyline. This year we will have new additions to the run, such as awards to outstanding teams and a beer garden at the park. Join us!
