SWC theater department presents world premiere musical 'Come to Life!' Phillip Brents | Fri, Jul 16 2010 02:47 AM

The Southwestern College  Theater Department is presenting a world premiere musical for the entire family through Aug. 1 at the Mayan Hall Theatre on campus. "Come to Life! The Musical World of Hans Christian Andersen" brings together three beloved stories by the classic children's author set to music by award-winning composer Ruff Yeager.

The three stories include "The Ugly Duckling," "The Little Match Girl" and "The Nightingale." The high-powered, concert-style show is directed by Josh Hyatt.
Sure to please the young and young-at-heart, the musical includes 20 original songs sung by more than 20 student performers.

Southwestern College is located at 900 Otay Lakes Road. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $7 for students and seniors. Cash only. To reserve tickets, call 701-0900.

Theater-goers may park in lot J, as lot O is currently undergoing construction.
