Wed, May 16 2012 09:54 PMThe presence of Sweetwater School District member Arlie Ricasa, recently charged with 4 felony, and 2 misdemeanor corruption-related charges by the San Diego DA didn't exactly promote AI's image in a positive way.

Tue, May 15 2012 08:17 PMwhile i will need more time to review the candidates i did want to make mention of the following;
finally a candidate who does not bore me with personal attributes. i do not care what your mama did, what your daddy did, the fact that a candidate once thought about becoming a priest is of no use to me, a candidate posing in front of a hum v as if they were eisenhower reincarnated again why?????
what i do want to see and hear are the the plans of what a candidate plans on doing and WHY. the minutia that the majority of these candidates spew is enough to gag a maggot. lets talk issues, lets talk resolutions.
Ms. Wagner: Thank You for addressing issues that you believe you have an answer for. RE FRESHING, TOTALLY REFRESHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sun, May 13 2012 07:15 PMms. lopez is such a positive reflection of todays woman. mother, wife, employee and board member.
she is living proof that woman can have it all, HOWEVER, it is important to give credit to her husband as she has done in this article.
as a board member i have been most impressed with her ability to carry her own. a real fire cracker, i still remember the board meeting when john mccann had a melt down and attempted to shut her up by turning off her mic, she kept speaking to those concerned taxpaying parents in the audience, mccann stomped back on stage and turned off all of the mics - not a problem for this female professional - she just spoke a little louder and answered the concerns that the community had raised.
thank you ms bertha lopez for all you do for our students!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sun, May 13 2012 08:59 AMAfter two negotiating sessions last week it became clear to SEA that the district was engaging in regressive bargaining. Here is a link to our latests Bargaining Update: http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs017/1102885321364/archive/1109977603729.html#.T6yf5hQ2zq0.facebook

Sat, May 12 2012 09:00 AMthese alleged bribery charges are SERIOUS, very serious. my opinoin Mr. Flores has pulled out the tape recorder, hit play and thereby given the the authorities all of the goods about ALL OF THE BOARD MEMBERS who chose to participate in 'pay to play' - something tells me those campaign contributions dollars are going to find a place to roost - right in the lap of those board members who took the monies and then presented the contracts to those contractors COMPLETE WITH A PRETTY LITTLE BOW.
just my opinion

Sat, May 12 2012 07:46 AM"it all comes down to the administration and bargaining units" - with all due respect mr. mccann - it should NEVER HAVE COME DOWN TO THIS ALL - don't we find it interesting that the elementary school in our area are NOT issuing pink slips - but then 4 of their current and past board leadership are NOT under indictment. and their board members campaigns were NOT funded by contractors, which created undo influence.
our students deserve better - class sizes of 45-1? and we think we have low test scores now, one can only imagine. the teachers of the district have been totally disrespected for years now.
to hear the majority of the board speak it is all about the big bad boogy man called 'the unions' - yet at election time there they are pandering to those same folks.
thank gooodness for board member lopez - without her it would be a total loss.
time for 4 of the 5 to go - time for a new superintendent.

Fri, May 11 2012 09:34 PMHow ironic. Ricasa's attorney is upset that "justice is being distorted because of political ambition". Isn't that what this case is all about? The public feels that justice has been distorted in the Sweetwater district because of the board members' political ambitions.

Fri, May 11 2012 04:45 PMHi, AnnieJ,
It should be working now. We made a correction and that's when things went south. But the bug/kink should be out of the system.
Sorry about that.
